This work was originally titled "Red Maisonette". It is a hanging construction made of wire, fabric and glass, hollow inside apart from the biological shapes that hang under it and are reflected on the mirror. The main theme is a house, with the different connotations it might cary for every individual, that is in the process of transforming into a living organism. I tried to express this with the shapes and the materials. I have also inverted the traditional colors of a picture of a house- red roof, white walls, blue sky- creating thus new connections about the identity of things and inforcing the poewr of the image. The construction has many smaller episodes taking place in various places on it. Small colorful windows allow the viewer see what is happening inside. Their is a strong juxtaposition of hard exo-sceletal elements and a soft core. Because it is hanging it is in constant slight movement when approached by the audience, making the experience of it more as if one meets a living thing and less an architectural element.
